Food & ME is a unit of 5 modules specifically designed for students at the transitional level - Years 5 and 6. Food & ME provides teachers with the necessary tools to teach nutrition within the ACT School Curriculum Framework. It provides students with the opportunity to learn about the relationship between food and health, including the effect it has on their bodies and mental wellbeing. Students will gain basic nutrition knowledge, food preparation and healthy decision making skills, all of which are essentil for fostering lifelong healthy eating behaviours.
Food & ME was developed and funded as part of the Healthy Food@School - an ACT Government Health Directorate Project to support a positive food and drink culture in the school environment.
