Training: Catering for allergies and intolerances in food service

In this interactive workshop, food service staff working in aged care or other residential health care settings will gain confidence in planning nutritious menus that accommodate various food allergies and intolerances.

Suggested for: food service staff and/or managers in working in residential health care.

You will learn:
  • the difference between allergies and intolerances
  • understanding common allergies
  • how to identify allergens in recipes and products
  • how to identify safe foods and drinks
  • food safety considerations
  • how to overcome challenges such as time and budgets
  • where to get further information

This workshop will also help your centre work towards Standard 2.10 of the Accreditation Standards for residential aged care, as outlined in the Quality of Care Principles 2014.

Workshops are facilitated by an Accredited Practising Dietitian or Registered Nutritionist from Nutrition Australia. All materials will be provided on the day and you will receive a certificate of completion at the end.
