WorkHealth - WorkSafe Victoria

Nutrition Australia works closely with WorkHealth, a WorkSafe Victoria initiative, to promote and facilitate healthy eating in the workplace.

The WorkHealth initiative aims to improve the health and wellbeing of Victorian workers and to encourage employers to create safe, health promoting workplaces.

The initiative targets the relationship between chronic disease and workplace injury, using the workplace as a setting to

1.      Educate workers about the state of their health and risk of developing chronic disease, and provide pathways to better health
2.      Empower employers to value worker health as a key to successful business, and provide a working environment that encourages positive health choices

Healthy eating and physical activity are key factors in the prevention and management of overweight and obesity and chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Workplaces that support healthy food choices also support their staff to achieve and maintain a healthy weight.  This can lead to improved work productivity and decreased absenteeism.

Nutrition Australia can tailor a Health and Wellbeing Program that aims to Inspire Healthy Eating.
