Training: Special diets in aged care food service

In this hands-on workshop, aged care food service staff and/or managers will learn about many commonly used special diets in the aged care setting, and explore their role is in providing special diets to clients.

Suggested for: food service staff and/or managers working in aged care.
 

You will learn:
  • the role of special diets in client care
  • the role and responsibilities of food service staff in providing special diets to clients
  • overview of common special diets, including:
    • high energy  / high protein
    • diabetic
    • low salt
    • kosher and Halal
    • texture modified*
  • where to access further information
     

This workshop will also help your centre work towards Standard 2.10 of the Accreditation Standards for residential aged care, as outlined in the Quality of Care Principles 2014.

Workshops are facilitated by an Accredited Practising Dietitian or Registered Nutritionist from Nutrition Australia. All materials will be provided on the day and you will receive a certificate of completion at the end.
