Training: Nutrition for community carers

Through this interactive workshop, we will explore the most common nutrition issues for older adults living at home, and practical tips to help prevent or manage them.
 

Suggested for: carers and/or support workers working with older adults living at home.
 

You will learn:
  • overview of nutrition for older adults
  • malnutrition: prevention and warning signs
  • practical strategies to improve energy and protein intake
  • dehydration in older adults
  • overcoming challenges to eating well such as appetite, forgetfulness
  • tips for shopping, cooking and preparing simple meals
  • where to get further information

Workshops are facilitated by an Accredited Practising Dietitian or Registered Nutritionist from Nutrition Australia. All materials will be provided on the day and you will receive a certificate of completion at the end.
