Educating New & Student Chefs via the Olive Oil in Foodservice Program (May 2017 – May 2019)

The Olive Oil in Foodservice Program is an exciting 2 year project being delivered by Nutrition Australia Vic Division and funded by Horticulture Innovation Australia. The project aims to educate and increase the knowledge of Australian Extra Virgin Olive Oil with new and student chefs in Victoria and New South Wales.

Educational resources were developed for the project which included 3 videos featuring well known chefs in the foodservice industry; Nicky Riemer, Ian Curley and Matt Dawson plus 3 factsheets, which are all housed on the Australian Extra Virgin Olive Oil website https://australianextravirgin.com.au/chefs/

The resources will be showcased to student chefs currently studying a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery at TAFEs in Victoria and New South Wales. They will also be distributed via social media channels to target established chefs currently working in foodservice.
