Exciting Opportunities Ahead for Our New Victorian Volunteers

Volunteers are an integral part of Nutrition Australia Vic Division with the relationships shared mutually beneficial. Their time is crucial to us and incredibly valued. Becoming a volunteer is highly sought after, with hundreds of keen applications received annually and only four intake periods throughout the year for our 13 week specialised program.

Though the thirteen week program has only been in effect for the past 18 months, we have been fortunate to have volunteers assisting in a less formal program for many years. Most are students at local universities who study dietetics, nutrition and public health, looking to develop their skills and immerse themselves in the industry they are studying.

Besides an interest in well-being, our volunteers all have one thing in common – their eagerness to learn as much as they give, as they explore this exciting, evolving industry. Benefits gained from volunteering range from general administrative skills through to networking, working as a team and being a vital part of supporting the community. From reception and research to events and marketing; the possibilities are rich for those who rise to the challenge. Many forge strong relationships during their time with us, developing networking skills and acquiring contacts that aid in securing future employment.

We appreciate our volunteers, recognising their contribution to Nutrition Australia Vic Division and dedication to furthering their careers. Our second wave of volunteers for 2018 has just begun as Zoe, Carly, Liz, Pooja, Steph and Jaz begin their journey with us and we look forward to an equally favourable three months together.
