Early Child Care

Providing children with the nutrients they require for optimal growth and development is essential if they are to reach their physical and mental potential. Poor food choices and unhealthy eating habits adopted during childhood can cause or heighten behavioural problems and lead to health problems later in life. Offering children nutritious meals and educating both children and the people that care for them about healthy food choices can help to ensure they reach their potential and enjoy a healthy adult life. Providing healthy meals to young children raises many challenges for parents, carers and childcare facilities, Nutrition Australia has many products and services that help address these needs and challenges.

Nutrition Australia offers a range of products and services that can assist in the nutritional care of young children. Childcare Advisory Services operate in a number of States and the ACT and aim to assist childcare facilities in meeting and exceeding the food and nutrition related principles of the QIAS and FDCQA Quality Practices Guidelines. These services are targeted at staff and parents with children in care associated with childcare centres, family day care schemes, kindergartens, preschools, child health centres, play groups and early life services.
