'As part of Wollongong Healthy Communities Initiative the seniors from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds had a great opportunity to get information about nutrition and healthy eating. Nutrition Australia conducted two workshops for the Croatian Seniors Group and Baltic State and Eastern European group that meet at the Croatian Catholic Centre. Feedback from seniors was positive and they said that they have learned something new and they would like to have such workshops again. They were very happy with workshop facilitators, who made the workshop interactive and enjoyable.
Seniors from CALD background believe that eating healthy can improve their quality of life but there is a need for more education in this area especially for those with limited English proficiency.' Multicultural Communities Council of Illawarra.
