Description

A tasty warm breakfast for those cold mornings, that will keep you fuller for longer.

Ingredients

1CupUncooked quinoa
3Cupwater
1Teaspoon (Metric)ground cinnamon
1 1⁄2Cupskim milk
1 red apple (Cored and chopped, skin on)
1Tablespoon (Metric)sultanas
1⁄2CupHazelnuts (Roughly chopped)

Instructions

  1. Place the quinoa in a saucepan with the water and cinnamon. Bring to the boil then reduce the heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
  2. Add milk, apple and sultanas, cook for another 5 minutes then stir in hazelnuts.
  3. Serve immediately.
Tips
  • Serve with a dollop of plain or natural yoghurt.
Notes
  • This recipe is gluten free and vegetarian, and has 18g of nuts per serve (1/2 a handful).
