Porridge with winter fruit medley

This quick and easy warm winter recipe will help add colour and flavour to your mornings.


1 1⁄2Cupoats
3 1⁄4Cupwater
1⁄2Cupwater with 1 cup skim milk (for creamy oats)
1⁄2Cupchopped dried apple
1⁄2Teaspoon (Metric)ground cinnamon
2CupFrozen mixed berries (thawed)
1Cupnatural low-fat yoghurt
4Teaspoon (Metric)honey


  1. Combine oats in a saucepan with water (or water and milk for creamy oats). Bring to the boil, stirring occasionally, over a high heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring constantly, for 5-6 minutes or until thick.
  2. Stir dried apple and cinnamon through porridge and divide between 4 bowls.
  3. Top each bowl of porridge with 1/4 of the thawed berries, yoghurt and honey.
