Porridge with sunflower and linseed mix

Seeds and dried cranberries stirred through this porridge will fill you up and add unexpected flavours!


1 1⁄2Cupoats
3 1⁄4Cupwater (Or 1/2 cup water and 1 cup skim milk for creamy oats)
1Tablespoon (Metric)linseeds
1Tablespoon (Metric)sunflower seeds
1⁄2CupDried cranberries
1Cuplow-fat natural yoghurt


  1. Combine oats in a saucepan with water (or water and milk for creamy oats). Bring to the boil, stirring occasionally, over a high heat. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring constantly, for 5-6 minutes or until thick.
  2. Stir linseeds, sunflower seeds and cranberries through porridge. Divide between 4 bowls and top each with 1/4 cup low-fat natural yoghurt to serve.
