Wrap up of National Nutrition Week 2017

Nutrition Australia’s National Nutrition Week 2017 (held in October), encouraged Australians to add an extra serve of vegetables to their day.

The campaign and our partnership with Bayer was announced at Parliament of Australia by Federal Assistant Minister for Health, the Hon David Gillespie.

As part of the campaign, the new Try For 5 website was launched to help Australians add veg to their day. The website is a fantastic resource containing nutrition information and practical materials to help people eat better by incorporating more vegetables in their diet.

Check out the website for information on why people need to eat vegetables, what a serve of vegetables is, tips for adding more vegetables to your day, vegetables that are currently in season, storage tips, cooking tips and recipes.

A competition was also run during the week. People were asked to upload a photo/video of the way they were incorporating more vegetables into each day to Instagram or Facebook.

Overall more than 2,500 competition entries were received!

Nutrition Australia would like to congratulate our Try for 5 competition winners @freshfuture @nourisheveryday and @wholelife.nutrition. They have each won a Vitamix professional 750 blender valued at $1,495!

Take a look at their winning entries below.
