Lucinda Hancock, Nutrition Australia Vic Division CEO, said “Taking the Try For 5 Challenge during National Nutrition Week is a great way to kick start healthy eating habits that you’ll carry on for the rest of your life.

“Vegetables are the most under-consumed food group, with the average Australian eating only half their recommended intake. Yet, over a third of the kilojoules we consume each day come from unhealthy options like cakes, biscuits, take away, confectionery, drinks and alcohol.

“Making a pledge to eat more veg is the first step to better health and wellbeing. Vegetables are full of flavour and they're packed full of important vitamins and minerals, disease-fighting antioxidants and gut-healthy fibre.”

“And they're so versatile. They can be enjoyed raw, cooked, baked, mashed, grated, chopped, diced, sliced - you name it!”

The Try For 5 Team Game is an ideal way for organisations to engage their staff or community members in a wellness activity, especially if they’re spread across multiple sites, because you can play anywhere, anytime, on any device.

Or get a group of friends and family together and support each other to boost your daily veg intake while raising money for a good cause.

The Try For 5 Team Game is just $15 per person to enter and every sign up helps raise money to support Nutrition Australia’s work to promote healthy eating in early childhood, schools and local communities. You can register and pay for a whole team, or invite people to join individually. (The Try For 5 Personal Challenge is free.)

“The HealthChase platform is about engaging teams into action” says Kyla Martin, Co-founder and Director of HealthChase.

“Our social and team approach works. On average 72% of our Players reach their daily veg targets, compared to less than 4% of Australians. And 91% of our Players would recommend giving it a go. I can’t wait to see what the Try For 5 teams achieve.”
