National Nude Food Day is Coming! 13th October 2010 as part of Nutriton Week 2010.
Nude Food : Some schools call it nude food, some schools call it rubbish free!
Its all about encouraging kids and their families to pack their lunches and snacks without the use of any wrapping. Each Australian household produces an average of 1.14 tonnes of waste per year. Nude food is also about encouraging healthy eating habits and an understanding of 'everyday foods' and 'sometimes foods'.
Why Nude Food Day? Many schools across Australia have been hosting their own Nude Food or Rubbish Free Days and Nutrition Australia sees a fantastic opportunity to celebrate a national day where schools and the wider community come together to build a greater understanding of the connection between food choices and good health, and the effects of rubbish on the health of our planet.
Why should your school be a part of Nude Food Day? knowledge is empowering and Nude Food Day can be used as a platform to ensure that the students recognise that they are capable of making a difference.
