Swap It Don’t Stop It is a national campaign developed by the Australian Government that encourages people to make small lifestyle changes to see big improvements in their health.
Nutrition Australia ACT Division can help your employees swap their way to good health, by spreading the Swap It Don't Stop It message in your workplace.
Popular services include workplace seminars and cooking demonstrations, all delivered with a 'Swap It' focus.
Tips for successful swapping
Healthy eating and getting active can help you lose centimetres and prevent or delay the onset of chronic diseases. A waist measurement of greater than 94 centimetres for men and 80 centimetres for women puts you at increased risk of some cancers, type 2 diabetes and heart disease.
There are some simple everyday changes you can make to get you on your way to a healthier lifestyle, without losing all the things you love.
Some handy hints to help you change your eating habits are:
- Don't overcrowd your plate
- Think twice before going back for seconds
- Eat slowly to give your stomach time to signal it's full
- Share a dessert rather than have your own
