Nutrition Australia ACT Division Schools Programs

Nutrition Australia is a non-profit, non-government, community-based organisation and one of Australia’s peak nutrition education bodies. Based on the latest science and research, qualified health professionals and educators provide a range of services for ACT primary and secondary school communities, including canteens, after school care, Parents and Citizens Associations, school principals and teachers. All of our services are tailored to the specific ages and learning stages as appropriate to the school community.

Teachers Resource Centre

Building on a program of professional development for teachers across the school spectrum, Nutrition Australia ACT offers teachers a showcase of text books, models, posters and activities suitable for curriculum development and class room teaching activities. Teachers may book a visit to the Teachers Resource Centre by calling 02 6162 2583 or emailing act@nutritionaustralia.org.

This centre is supported by the ACT Health Promotion Grants Program following a Professional Development Program - Making a Difference, Up Skilling ACT Teachers in Food and Nutrition Education.

To further support teachers, Nutrition Australia ACT Division has released a list of useful food and nutrition information websites. These websites have been assessed by Nutrition Australia nutritionists as being of a high standard and relevant to the school curriculum.
