Food&ME set to boost health literacy in kids
A new resource to boost health literacy amongst primary school children was launched in the ACT on 25 September. Food&METM is a suite of nutrition education units designed to help teachers educate students at the primary school level on food and nutrition and help establish healthy eating habits for life.
Written and piloted by Nutrition Australia ACT, Food&METM aligns with the Food and Nutrition components of the National Curriculum for Health and Physical Education. The evidence based nutrition education units have been developed in consultation with ACT school teachers in partnership with the ACT Government to support its Towards Zero Growth - Healthy Weight Action Plan.
