Nutrition Australia Workplace Health and Wellbeing Programs aim to Inspire Healthy Eating by promoting the importance of good food and nutrition. We offer a wide range of Workplace Health and Wellbeing services, including the following

Seminars

Nutrition Australia's workplace seminars include:

  1. A 1 hour nutrition seminar at your workplace.
  2. Resources, including posters for the organisation and handouts on current nutrition and health issues for participants.

Popular workplace seminars in the ACT include:

  • How do you measure up? - Assess the ‘healthiness’ of your food and lifestyle choices and learn about tips and ideas for enjoyable meals and snacks.
  • Boost Your Energy – Want to get the most out of every day? This presentation highlights the link between what you eat and your energy levels. It also covers information on general nutrition and provides practical diet tips on how to boost energy and get the most out of the
    day.
  • Food Variety and Physical Activity – The best way to ensure you are meeting your nutritional requirements is to maximise the variety of food in your diet. This presentation provides simple approaches to improve your food variety and provides tips on how to improve your physical fitness.
  • Weight for a Change –This presentation empowers individuals with the knowledge and motivation to initiate a realistic weight loss program. Weight loss ideas are discussed, such as behaviour modification and the presentation incorporates the nutritional value of food.
  • Food Fitness – Want to improve your physical fitness or sporting performance? This presentation demonstrates the inter-relationship between nutrition and exercise and how nutrition can aid physical training. Learn how to increase your capacity for exercise through fuelling your body with the best foods and fluids.
  • Meal Planning – A presentation designed to assist with the day-to-day planning of individual and family meals and includes ideas for healthy eating when dining out. Ideas are offered for managing the 5.00pm rush and keeping motivated to prepare meals rather than relying on takeaway.
  • Food Choices What the Labels Tell Us. Do you know how to read food labels? This presentation is designed to equip participants with the skills to understand what is in food and how to select food products. Presenters discuss guidelines for making healthy choices of products in the different food groups e.g. breads and cereals and dairy. This is a virtual supermarket tour!

Cooking demonstrations

Nutrition Australia’s cooking demonstrations include:

  1. A 1 hour cooking demonstration at your workplace; providing ideas for healthy meals and snacks. Participants will be able to sample the foods prepared.
  2. Resources, including posters for the organisation and recipe sheets and handouts on current nutrition and health issues for participants.

The facilities available for preparation, cooking and taste-testing must be confirmed before a booking can be made.

Health displays

Nutrition Australia’s ‘healthy lifestyle’ displays are designed to be interactive, with a qualified nutrition professional in attendance to respond to individual concerns and issues.

Nutrition advisory

Nutrition Australia can work with your organisation to deliver effective motivational programs; this may include preparation of specific newsletters or inserts, fact sheets and menu assessments. Contact us to discuss your organisation’s needs.

Nutrition consultancy

Individual staff can attend a short nutrition session (approx. 10 minutes) and receive nutritional support and information of a non-clinical nature. Access is required to a small private area or office. Staff will be provided with a short nutrition assessment to complete and bring to the appointment to ensure the specific nutrition and health issues are addressed. Those identified as requiring complex advice will be referred to Dietitians in ACT Health Services or private practice.

Canteen/café menu assessment

How do you rate the onsite food services including café? Nutrition Australia provides an onsite assessment of your menu according to the Australian Dietary Guidelines and traffic light system. Recommendations for improvement are provided.
