What is SNAC?

The School Nutrition Action Coalition (SNAC) is a group of health and education professionals working with school communities to support them in the area of nutrition.  The aim of SNAC is to be responsive to relevant school nutrition issues and opportunities as they arise.  It also aims to provide a forum for practitioners to meet and collaborate on significant nutritional issues relating to children and adolescents in schools.  The objectives of the group are as follows:

Who makes up SNAC?

SNAC is co-ordinated by Public Health Services within Queensland Health.  Members of SNAC include nutritionists, dietitians, health promotion officers and oral health therapists from Queensland Health, univerisities and non-government organisations such as Nutrition Australia, Heart Foundation and the Queensland Association of School Tuckshops, as well as curriculum and policy advisors from the education sector.  SNAC is not aligned  with any commercial organisation.
