Encouragement is given to women in this 16 page A4 booklet, to eat a
wide variety of nutritious foods whilst at the same time recognising their
special needs, life style demands and long term effects of inadequate
nutrition such as osteoporosis and heart disease.
Issues related to family commitments, work place commitments (including
shift work and executive influences) and being physically active are
discussed and easy to use guidelines are given. Vegetarianism, weight
management, pregnancy and breastfeeding,
meal planning, snacking and food on the run are all included. Special note
is taken of antioxidants, phytoestrogens, fish, legumes and food
labelling.
