The school curriculum should allow students
to gain knowledge about nutrition that will remain with them all
their lives. It is essential that all students have access to nutrition
education. Other considerations for incorporating nutrition successfully
into the curriculum are:
Enable students to evaluate their own diets
Allow students to develop skills they need
to set goals, and plan and implement changes to their eating patterns
Address health and nutrition issues
Link food-related topics and resources across
subject areas
Is full use of nutrition education resources
being made within the school and community
