Coeliac Society of Australia Inc. Gluten Free Symbol

The Coeliac Society of Australia has a programme for endorsing foods (and other products eg bread machines) to assist our members with food choices.

For a food to be endorsed it must satisfy the food standards code definition of gluten free ie no detectable gluten (results must be supplied to the society).

the message we wish to convey to people requiring a gluten free diet is that any food with our symbol is absolutely safe for them to eat. A gluten free diet is not easy to follow and we believe that this symbol will make food choices easier.

The logo is a map of Australian with the crossed grain and the words 'This food contains no detectable gluten'.

We would like to use the words 'Endorsed by the Coeliac Society of Australia' but the inclusion of the name of a disease is not allowed.

The logo is registed to the society. We have also applied for registration of the crossed grain in a circle (the UK symbol).

Some manufacturers use different forms of the crossed grain symbol.
